GREENSBORO, NC – Goodwill Industries of Central North Carolina, Inc. (Triad Goodwill) is excited to share that they have been selected as a recipient of the 2023 Skyla Cares grant from Skyla Federal Credit Union. The Skyla Cares grant is awarded to organizations that are implementing strong initiatives and moving the needle in the areas of financial wellness, economic mobility, and housing stability. Triad Goodwill was awarded the $10,000 grant as a result of the organization’s efforts in creating opportunities for individuals with justice involvement, as well as the high completion and job placement rates of participants in skilled training programs.

“The generous funds awarded through the Skyla Cares grant will support Triad Goodwill’s efforts to grow the availability of Career Navigation programming, helping more people in our community prepare for and obtain good-paying jobs while addressing some of the unique barriers that get in the way of that pursuit,” explains Jessica Schultz, vice president of career development services at Triad Goodwill. “We are so grateful to partners like Skyla who recognize the need for and value of these life-changing services.”

Triad Goodwill provides supportive services and strength-based coaching to community members in Central North Carolina. The organization operates a Career Center at 1235 S. Eugene St. in Greensboro that is open to the public Monday – Friday. At the Career Center individuals can work one-on-one with a Career Navigator to help reach their career goals. The organization also provides a variety of specialized and skilled training programs including, Careers on the Outside, CDL Training, HVAC/R Certifications, and no-cost virtual and in-person workshops.
