GREENSBORO, N.C. – Join us for the 2022 Unlocking Dementia through Hope, Humor and Understanding series, a 5-week journey into learning about dementia with meaningful information and discussions, fun activities, and a presentation by very special guest Susan G. Miller, author of My Life Rearranged: Musings of an Alzheimer Caregiver!

Join us for a screening of “Complaints of a Dutiful Daughter” followed by a brief discussion. In recounting her attempts to come to terms with her mother’s advancing Alzheimer’s disease, Deborah Hoffmann explores the relationship between mother and daughter, parent and child, and the tenacity of love.

September 13, 5:30-7PM Brain Fitness Fun Night

Learn key areas to a healthy brain, including physical exercise, stress reduction and mental activity during this FUN night, as well as engage in brain-fitness games while socializing with fellow caregivers!

September 20, 4-5:30PM A Caregiver’s Toolkit

Caregivers are tasked with setting the stage for a loved one with dementia to feel safe at home, with a sense of purpose. Join Leslie and Jodi as they share tips for your toolkit that may help you and the person you care for, including establishing a routine, communicating clearly, adapting activities of


daily living, and redirecting with meaningful activity.

September 22, 1pm Laughter Yoga

Feeling stressed? Need a good laugh or a way to take your mind of of things? Try Laughter Yoga! Reduce stress and lift your spirits with exercises from Laughter Yoga instructor Lisa Levine, Director of Programs with Dementia Alliance of North Carolina.

September 29, 4-5:30PM Taking Care of YOU!

Self-care for the caregiver is critical. Re-energizing and taking care of YOU will make you feel better and support you in taking better care of your loved one. Join us as we partner with Authoracare Collective to share and practice tools for relaxation and mindfulness that you can do at home.

October 6, 7PM SPECIAL EVENT with author Susan Miller

Join us for this special event! Susan G. Miller, caregiver advocate and author of “My Life Rearranged: Musings of an Alzheimer Caregiver”, will discuss being a caregiver for a loved one with dementia.

Every attendee will receive a copy of her highly recommended book!
