GREENSBORO, NC (Nov. 27, 2018) – Many roads in downtown Greensboro will be closed Saturday, Dec. 1 for the city’s annual Holiday Parade.

The first closures begin at 8 am at the parade’s formation area. The formation area is on the north-bound lanes of Murrow Blvd. from Lindsay to Fisher Ave., Fisher Ave. to Greene St., Greene St. to Lindsay, and Lindsay from Greene to Battleground Ave. During the staging of participants in the formation area, Elm St. and Smith St. remain open for vehicular traffic. Participants can access the formation via side streets.

At approximately 10:30 am, streets along the parade route and perimeter close. This includes areas between Market St., Greene St., Battleground Ave., W. Smith St., Fisher Ave., and Murrow Blvd. 

Parking is prohibited on Greene St., Market St., and Church St. Vehicles parked along the route will be towed. Participants and on-lookers may park at the Greene Street Deck, on-street parking anywhere off the parade route, and city surface lots at Commerce St., Federal Pl./Washington St., Eugene St./Washington St., and, Elm St. /McGee St. 

All roads should be open by 3 pm.

Police employees will be directing traffic, and barricades will be emplaced to indicate control traffic flow, and closed roadways.
