Greensboro, NC – The Carolina Theatre is pleased to announce the 12th Annual Summer Film Festival, sponsored by the Deuterman Law Group. Additional support for the 2019 Summer Film Festival comes from the Wrangler Great American Movie Series, the Wyndham Championship, and Imagine Travel.

The Wrangler Great American Movies are The Big Lebowski on July 9, The Blues Brothers on July 18, Midnight Cowboy on August 13, and Stand by Me on August 16. Audience members will have the opportunity to add their name to a drawing to win one of three pairs of new Wrangler jeans before each screening in the Great American series.

Caddyshack on July 17 is presented by the Wyndham Championship. The 2019 tournament, set for July 30 through August 4 at Sedgefield Country Club, will mark the 80th edition of North Carolina’s oldest professional golf event.

Blue Hawaii on August 1 is presented by Imagine Travel. “Elvis” will be in the building.

This year also marks the return of the six-week run of summer movies to the renovated Betty and Ben Cone, Jr. Auditorium following phase one of the theatre’s Setting the Stage Capital Campaign in summer of 2018. Guests who have not yet had an opportunity to explore the theatre since its reopening in October will be welcomed by new chairs in the 91-year-old theatre, new carpet throughout the building, updated and expanded restrooms, restored plaster and paint, expanded concession stand, new sound system, and refreshed finishes throughout the theatre. Phase two of the renovation will focus on The Crown at the Carolina on the theatre’s third floor, which served as the venue for last year’s Summer Film Festival.

The full summer movie line-up and schedule can be found here.

Summer Film Festival tickets are $7 for adults, or $6 for students, teachers, seniors, military, first responders, and groups of 10 or more. All taxes are included. Tickets are available at the theatre box office Monday through Friday from noon until 5pm, at the door 30 minutes prior to show time, by telephone at 336.333.2605, and at CarolinaTheatre.com
